Robert Nicholls
Co-founder and Managing Director, Carbon Training International

Rob is a co-founder and Managing Director of Carbon Training International, a specialist education services provider of carbon and energy management training programs. CTI's nationally accredited qualifications and training have been especially designed to assist organisations transition to a less energy intensive and low-carbon economy.

An Australian and California based company; CTI is leveraging an expanding network of international education and industry partnerships to deploy its capacity building programs to help train the next generation of sustainability savvy business professionals.

CTI's carbon management program has been taught at UCLA Extension for the past 2 years. Rob is responsible for CTI's business strategy, market development, and strategic partner programs. He is also Chair of CTI's Finance Committee.

Rob's working knowledge of carbon and energy management business systems has been gained from projects associated with sustainability planning, risk mitigation, eco-focused investments and carbon abatement projects over the past 6 years. He has worked across industry identifying and addressing key business challenges created under climate change policy and advising on business strategic responses to the low carbon economy.

Rob's knowledge of the international and national climate change protocols, mechanisms, policies, legislation frameworks and regulatory settings that underpin emissions abatement and energy management has enabled him to develop a detailed understanding of related implications for business performance and continuity.

As well as being a market economist, he is an experienced business strategist and operational improvement specialist with diverse industry experience gained from working in Australia, Europe and the US over the past 15 years.

Rob holds qualifications in economics, business, marketing, and finance as well as project management. He has an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management. He sits on several Boards and is a member and graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
