Peter Holt
Principal Consultant, Carbon Strategy, Energetics

Peter leads Energetics' Carbon Strategy team working at both Board and executive team level to advise on the commercial implications of the carbon pricing mechanism. He considers issues such as a company's social licence to operate if they are a large carbon emitter, carbon cost impacts on supply chains, risk management and regulatory oversight, efficiency improvements and planning for growth in a carbon constrained economy. Through a strategic approach to carbon management, Peter and his team assist clients to differentiate themselves in their marketplace and create value for their customers.

Peter is one of Energetics' principal spokespeople on carbon impacts for sectors as diverse as coal mining, telecommunications and construction.

He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from University of Sydney, and his career has spanned water, energy and waste management advisory and solutions development work. He is a member of the Great Barrier Reef Foundation's "ZooX" faculty which leads representatives from sponsoring companies through education about the impacts climate change is having on the reef. Peter acts as a mentor to those business groups to develop workplace projects that aim to reduce greenhouse emissions.
